Our focus is to provide quality structural engineering with attention to architectural detail. Extensive architectural design experience of our principals, assure that the aesthetic requirements of a building are adhered to and complement the design. Architectural expression of structural components is one area we pride ourselves on.

Structural System Selection

Selecting the appropriate system is imperative to both the budget and overall design requirements of a building. We have a wide range of design experience from, post-tensioned concrete and steel frames all the way to timber and light gauge metal that we draw from to aid in selecting the appropriate structural systems.

Complete Design

Every project that leaves our office is thoroughly reviewed by an experienced, licensed engineer familiar with the project to assure that all facets of the design are met. This helps the review process so that repeated submissions to governing bodies are not needed to obtain permits.

Adaptability

We have experience working with IBC, British, Euro, and Indian Codes. We have currently completed projects in over 30 states and six countries. Our key staff has NCEES Council Records allowing us to obtain registration in any state or country quickly.

Value Engineering Experience

Fabricator and construction site visits along with our substantial library of product vendor information insure we are using the latest technologies to meet budget and design requirements. Design-Build relationships are welcomed.

bds was formerly AED, and was established in 1997 by Christopher J. Sosnowski, P.E.. Our focus is on expanding our client base without sacrificing the quality of design we pride our reputation on.
